Human behavior plays a critical role in health and wellness across the lifespan. In developmental conditions such as autism, children face significant challenges in acquiring key social and communicative skills. In adulthood, key health-related behaviors such as smoking and unhealthy eating play a substantial role in determining health outcomes. In aging, behavioral changes are often linked to patterns of decline. A common feature across all of these contexts is the difficulty of objectively, reliably, and unobtrusively measuring human behavior in a scalable fashion under both clinical and field conditions.
